The houses of the Llugarón I,
II and III are located in the small village of Llugaron, parish of
Villaviciosa. Situated in the beautiful Miravalles valley,
part of the Sueve nature reserve with views of the Sueve mountain
range that was dedicated by Roman settlers to their god Jupiter.
Llugarón is a tranquil village of no more than a dozen houses
surrounded by fields, apple orchards, and forests. Numerous roads
through which one can ramble enjoying the natural beauty of a fertile
paradise so aptly named Green Spain.
Some 4 Km from Villaviciosa, which is a small town lovingly preserving
the architectural beauty of its origins and offering a wide range
of gastronomic delights.
The parish of Villaviciosa has numerous pre-Romanesque
and Romanesque churches as well as beautiful beaches,
among those that of Rodiles which is more than 1 Km long. The Villaviciosa
estuary is the protected breeding ground for many migrating
birds. Diverse water sports are offered here, among those canoeing.
The small picturesque Port of Tazones and Lastres
is where one can enjoy excellent Cantabrian sea food. Accompanied
with the finest scrumpy cider, or the typical fabada (bean and meat
stew), and a traditional rice pudding to finish.
Rambling routes are well sign posted and one (ruta de los Molinos)
takes the rambler past some of the water mills of the river
"Riu Profundu". However, regardless of direction or route,
mountain range or ocean view, one will not fail to be impressed
whilst travelling through the parish of Villaviciosa.
